Citizens Assisting Police in Apex (CAPA) are volunteer members who assist the Apex Police Department in a variety of functions. CAPA members help provide assistance at public events and assist the Police Department in support roles at events such as:
- DWI checkpoints
- National Night Out
- Peak Day
- Shred Day
Before becoming CAPA member, a volunteer must successfully complete Apex’s Community Police Academy. CAPA volunteers are not sworn officers, they do not carry weapons and cannot make arrests.
