Downtown Parking Time Limits

Effective January 2, 2025, new parking time limits are in place to encourage turnover in the most heavily used spaces. 

Most new time restrictions will apply Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Any citation received for parking longer than the time allowed may result in a civil penalty, to be paid to the Billing & Collections division at Apex Town Hall, 73 Hunter Street. 

By state law, vehicles that display an accessible parking decal or placard are not restricted by time limits, regardless of whether or not they are parked in a spot marked accessible.

3-Hour On-Street Parking:

  • S. Salem Street (from Chatham Street to south of Moore Street)
  • E. Chatham Street & W. Chatham Street
  • Saunders Street

2-Hour On-Street Parking:

  • N. Salem Street (from Saunders Street to Chatham Street)

3-Hour Off-Street Parking:

  • Seaboard Lot
  • Saunders Lot (spaces adjacent to businesses)

2-Hour Off-Street Parking:

  • Depot Lot

15-Minute Spaces:

  • N. Salem Street (one on each side)
  • Seaboard Lot (2 spaces)
  • Saunders Lot (1 space)
  • Depot Lot (1 space)
