  • Southern Traditions Trip- Tuesday, June 4th: There are a few spots left! North Carolina roots run deep and this trip will celebrate two very important traditions that are a part of many southerners’ cultural identity.  Deluxe motor coach transportation, tour tickets, and lunch is included.   • Just a reminder that the Aqua Fitness sessions are ongoing on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 12:30-1:30 pm at Cambridge Village of Apex.  These sessions are now free swim with no instruction until further notice.
  • Ready, Steady, Go- Friday, April 26, at 11:15am- 12:15pm:  Join us for a one-hour informative and interactive class that will show you how to avoid falls and confidently enjoy the activities you love.  The presentation will focus on awareness, prevention, risk factors, and impacts and will end with 20 minutes of instructor-led exercise to achieve optimal balance, muscle strength, and improved coordination. Kristina Wolfe, WakeMed Physical Therapist at Cambridge Village will also be providing free balance screens. This free class is sponsored and provided by WakeMed. To register online: Click here
  • Grandparents and Technology- Tuesday, April 30th 1:30-3:30: Are you looking for a way to interact more with your grandkids using social media? Or are you struggling with screen time boundaries and enjoying personal interactions with them? Bring your tablet, iPad, Kindle, or laptop and work with an expert to select which age-appropriate apps your adult children and grandchildren are using. Then we will discuss how to create safe, family-friendly limits on the usage of technology that work for everyone and increase quality time spent together.   •  Think Apex Day - Saturday, April 27: Join us for a day of volunteerism in the Apex community.  Apex residents can make a positive impact by participating in an organized volunteer activity or by simply performing a random act of kindness.  We can all “think Apex” daily by engaging in ways that enrich the lives of those in our community.  For more information about this community initiative, please visit www.thinkapex.biz.   
  • Peakfest- Saturday, May 4: Join the Apex Festival Commission for the Peak of Good Living Celebration in Downtown Apex.  There will be 5 blocks of arts, crafts, food trucks, live music, entertainment, kid’s rides, and much more!  Parking is available at the community center. 
  •  Free Tickets are available at the front desk for the Peak City Singers performance of “When The Past Meets the Present” to be held at the Halle Cultural Arts Center on either Saturday, June 8 at 3 pm OR Sunday, June 9, at 3 pm.  Don’t miss out on this wonderful performance by our friends and fellow seniors!
