8x8 Daily Painting Exhibition: The annual Daily Painting Exhibition started 4 years ago for the artists participating in the class The Happy Habit taught by Mónica Linares. Students in this class work together in forming the habit of painting every day (or most days!). That first exhibition was a success and the group of artists exhibiting became a strong tribe that now looks forward to their yearly group show. This group of daily painters keeps growing as the Happy Habit class keeps filling up every time it is held. The participants find this show to be not only a motivation to form the habit of going to their easels, but a reward and a celebration for their effort of painting frequently...the only way to become better at painting. Unique to this year is that each participant will be exploring a color of their choice throughout their series, and that the size of the pieces is 8x8” instead of the usual 6x6”. And we always have a couple of well-known guest artists joining our show; they inspire us to keep going. Artists participating in this are: Alicia Brinkman, Amy B. Fetzer, Ann Ayers, Carol Riddle, Jane Rhudy, Judy Brubach, Karon Davis, Lisa Daria Kennedy, Luisana Bethencourt, Mary Ann Reames, Mónica Linares, Nancy Carty, Pat Ligon, Patty Westfield, Sarah Sedwick, Terri Gildin, and Will Pearson
John Johnson is a self-taught artist specializing in drawing portraits. He enjoys drawing sports figures and an occasional still life. His favorite mediums are colored pencils, graphite, charcoal, and pastels.
