Update: Terry Rowe Selected to Fill Vacancy
posted 10/5/11

At their October 4th meeting, Council appointed Terry Rowe to fill the vacant seat left by Mike Jones. Council members noted his work and leadership on appointed Boards, including 12 years with the the Apex Planning & Zoning Board, serving as Chairman for 7 of those years, and 3 years as Chairman of the Board of Adjustment, his thorough knowledge of the Veridea project, and his involvement with other major town projects such as Kidstowne Playground among the many reasons why Mr. Rowe was considered the strongest candidate.  He will be sworn in at the October 18th Council meeting.

Process for Filling Vacancy

Due to the recent resignation of Councilman Mike Jones, an Apex Town Council seat is currently vacant. The final candidate will be appointed by the Council to serve the remainder of term through December 2013. Candidates must be at least 21 year of age, live within the Apex town limits and be registered to vote.

Serving on the Council requires time and dedication, meeting twice each month in addition to work sessions and other special projects. As of 5pm on September 19th, the application period is closed.  All applicants chose to release their applications as public documents.
