Apex Mayor's Economic Development Task Force Takes Shape

Apex, NCThe roster is complete, meeting dates confirmed, agenda set.  Apex officials and business leaders are ready to tackle the topic of economic development.

Apex Mayor Keith Weatherly, who will chair the committee said, “Jobs are paramount to the success of our local and national economy.  Our approach will be two-fold – we must develop workable strategies to retain and recruit new business and industry to the Apex community.”

Leaders from all sizes of businesses and industries in Apex will gather on October 11th and 19th from noon-2pm at Town Hall to discuss goals and strategies for business retention and recruitment. 

The strategies and work plan discussions will be facilitated by Ernie Pearson, the former Assistant Secretary of Economic Development for the NC Department of Commerce.  He is the manager of law firm Sanford Holshouser’s Economic Development Committee and an attorney with the Nexsen Pruet law firm in Raleigh.

“I am personally excited about the caliber and experience of the participants on the task force who represent small, medium and large business in Apex, and  I appreciate their willingness to serve,” said Weatherly. 

The task force will be comprised of the following:
