Siren Testing Throughout October

Siren Testing Throughout October

Posted

The Harris Nuclear Power Plant will be performing warning siren maintenance during the month of October.  After maintenance, Growl Tests (siren activations) will be performed for each individual siren.  The growl test produces a full volume alert tone for about 5 seconds.

If there were an actual emergency at the Harris Plant, the sirens would be activated 4 times (3 minutes each time), for a total of 15 minutes.  Residents hearing the sirens should then monitor the radio or television for event details and instructions.
