Congratulations to the Peak City Singers from the Apex Senior Adult Program! They won the N.C. Senior Games State Finals SilverArts Follies competition in the Vocal-Large group category on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the N.C. State McKimmon Center in Raleigh.
Ranging in ages 64 to 89 and led by director Jill Smith, the 25-member choir began practicing weekly the Irvin Berlin song “I Love a Piano” in January in preparation for the Raleigh-Wake Senior Games SilverArts Follies in April. They won best in show for the entire county which qualified them to compete for the state title in their category.
