Mayor's Message

Mayor's Message

Whether you're already an Apex citizen—or just considering it—we appreciate your logging on to find out more about our town. We welcome your comments and questions and hope you will call to speak personally with your elected officials and Town Hall staff as well as attend Town Council and advisory committee meetings on a regular basis. If you are not familiar with Apex, we are a vibrant, progressive, family-oriented community in western Wake County.

Our people place a high priority on preserving the character of our town in order to maintain our unique identity as we grow. Come and see our newly restored downtown, complete with specialty shops, several fine restaurants, and many historic buildings. The surrounding historic district is full of unique homes and a walking tour is a great way to experience Apex's well-preserved past.

You will quickly see that Apex retains its small-town character in a region that is experiencing rapid growth. In short, we place a high value on our historic heritage while planning for our future residents in the many neighborhoods now under construction. Apex reflects an ideal urban community with excellent schools, quiet, friendly neighborhoods, and a growing number of businesses providing jobs and convenient shopping opportunities.

These factors resulted in Business North Carolina magazine naming Apex as the Best Small Town in North Carolina. Following this honor, CNN/Money Magazine in July 2013, while compiling its list of the 100 Best Places in America to Live, proclaimed Apex as the best in all of North Carolina and the 9th Best in America to live, work, and raise a family. Again, welcome. We look forward to speaking with you in person or by telephone. Apex has an unlimited potential as we enter a new and dramatic era in our development. It's no wonder we're called the Peak of Good Living!

Mayor, Town of Apex
