
Apex Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources sponsor a variety of special events each year.
Easter Egg Hunt : Bring your baskets and arrive early to meet the Easter Bunny and find candy and toy-filled eggs! Ages 9 and under. Location is Apex Community Park. (In case of rain will be moved to the Community Center.)

4th of July: Apex celebrates Americas Birthday with a day of Fabulous Family activities in downtown Apex on Salem Street. 2008 festivities will be held on Friday, July 4th from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Red, white and blue colors will adorn the historic business district as folks gather to honor America and to celebrate 131 years of town history.
Children
(12 and under) join Uncle Sams Parade of
Wheels (12 noon) by decorating bicycles, tricycles, wagons and any
other non-motorized vehicle. If you would like to participate in
the parade please line up by 11:30 A.M. the day of the festival
at the parade registration table located at corner of Salem St.
& Chatham St.
Uncle Sam leads the festivities which include food, clowns, cake walk, dunking booth, duck pond, face painting, water balloons, side walk chalk, costume contest, musical entertainment, karaoke, and much more old-fashion family fun. Halloween Carnival: For ages 8 and under. Saturday, October 25, 2008, 2:00-4:00pm at Apex Community Center. Games, prizes and plenty of spooky surprises with "Mummy your Mommy" contest, costume contests, facepainting, Halloween Crafts and lots, lots more! Free! Trot 5K Run: Start your training now for the 10th annual run being held Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the Apex Community Park . Registrations are now being accepted on-line at Active.com or you may click for the 2007 downloadable application. View the course

Family Basketball Ham Toss: Family members of any age join together to shoot foul shots and a chance to win a holiday ham. The event will be held December 15, 2007 at the Apex Community Center and is free to all participants. 2007 Results
Celebrate the "Peak of Good Living" at the PeakFest, the first Saturday in May.
PeakFest features over 200 vendors with a wide variety of arts and crafts. There will be also plenty of entertainment with stages with music and dance acts, rides, and roving street performers, see map for stage lineups . Also don't forget about that delicious festival food. The festival is from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm on Salem Street in historic downtown Apex, free and open to the public.
