Planning Technician-Limited Service Assignment - Performs technical and administrative work in support of the development review process. Duties include coordinating and organizing plan submittals; sending correspondence and setting up project files; processing and approving certificates of zoning compliance, sign permits, home occupation permits, and temporary use permits; coordinating other administrative and permit approvals; creating and maintaining databases, tracking projects, and answering questions from citizens and developers related to planning and zoning matters. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, business or related field, experience with MS Word and Excel, and excellent customer service and organizational skills.
One Year Assignment. Work hours: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. M-F (20 hours per week). Normal Hiring Range: $17.57-$18.50/hr. Benefits for this position include, but are not limited to 401(k), Local Government Retirement, and a medical and dental cost sharing arrangement.
