Animal Control: (919) 212-7387

Apex follows Wake County’s Animal Control policies, which regulates that all animals remain physically restrained at all times, whether by leash or fence. It is not necessary to register your animal in Apex, but your pet should always have their rabies tags displayed. 

Environmental Services: (919) 856-7400

Wake County Environmental Services handles topics related to air quality, Fish Advisories, Food Sanitation and Inspec­tions, Pests, Radon Information, Swimming Pools, and Tat­toos. They also address soil and water conservation, water quality and stormwater management.

Health & Human Services: (919) 212-7000

Wake County Human Services is the consolidation of programs and services formerly carried out by several separate depart­ments and offices: Social Services, Public Health, Mental Health, Job Training, Child Support, Housing and Transportation.

Libraries: (919) 856-6868

The Wake County Public Library System consists of five re­gional libraries and eleven community branch libraries.  One of their branches, the Eva Perry Regional Library, is located here in Apex at 2100 Shepherd's Vineyard Drive.

Property Taxes (Wake County Revenue): (919) 856-5400

Wake County is responsible for assessing the value of your real and personal property. Apex accepts payments for property or vehicle taxes at Town Hall.

Public Transportation (Wake County TRACS): (919) 212-7005

The Transportation and Rural ACcesS (TRACS) program is available to Apex residents. Service is offered by zone. Apex is included in the Southwest Zone, which serves Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, Apex, Morrisville and surrounding areas. Service is shared, demand responsive, and is provided on a first come, first serve, seat available basis.

Register of Deeds: (919) 856-5460

The Register of Deeds Office records, maintains and makes available to the general public real estate documents, Uni­form Commercial Code and other documents on file in the office. Staff also issues marriage licenses, administers notary oaths, and maintains records of armed forces discharges.

Schools (Wake County Public School System): (919) 850-1600

Wake County plans all schools in Town. Contact the Wake County Public School System with any questions regarding your child’s education.

Voter Registration (Wake County Board of Elections): (919) 856-6240

All elections are conducted by Wake County. Local elections are held every other odd year (ex. 2011, 2013) to elect members of the Apex Town Council.
