Watercolor Society of North Carolina: The local chapter of WSNC returns with new work to the Halle after a year and a half: Watercolors in a multitude of shades and styles. Large and small—always fresh— landscapes, still-life, and portraiture will fill the gallery. Some take on a traditional air of the watercolor medium. Others surprise the observer with a formalized and definitive construct of the typically free flowing technique. WCSNC is 45 years old this year, originally organized in 1972 by artist-businessman A. Stuffer Myers from Lexington. The society grew from its original 18 members to a current membership of almost 500. Watercolor Society of North Carolina WEBSITE
Molly Cassidy : "Creating primarily as a conceptual, mixed media artist, I find myself often inspired by others' words, providing me with an avenue to express an interpretation of an idea. mixed media gives me the freedom to express myself artistically as there are no real rules or boundaries of composition, only those I place on myself. and, ultimately, I feel that, if perhaps, what i create can Affect another, it elevates Something Purely Subjective to Something Relevant."
