Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
The Apex Fire Department is currently organizing Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, free of charge! Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
CERT educates citizens about:
- Disaster preparedness
- Basic disaster response skills
- Fire safety
- Light search and rescue
- Team organization
- Disaster medical operations
Who can join?
Eligible citizens are anyone who lives or works in Apex or the surrounding area, who are 18 years old or older, or ages 16 or 17 with signed parental permission form. Background check is performed for every CERT applicant.
