Apex Scarecrow Row
Thursday, Oct 21: We will be hosting a free scarecrow decoration event at Apex Community Park. Our supplies are limited, so this event is limited to the first 20 families who registered. We will be providing frames and stuffing for the scarecrows, and you will bring the clothes, props, decorations, etc to make your own unique scarecrow! We will have some orange "pumpkin heads" that you can paint a face on, or feel free to bring your own item to use for the head if you would like.
*UPDATE: Registration for the scarecrow decorating event is full. Please email us if you want to be added to the waitlist.
StoryWalk® at the Park
We are excited to introduce StoryWalk® to Apex! You can read a provided children's book as you walk along a short trail. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
CURRENT LOCATIONS (as of 9/24/21): Apex Nature Park, 2600 Evans Rd entrance, around the small pond by the dog park
CURRENT BOOK: S'mores Indoors by Eric Robertson and Lynda Sing
If you have already done one of our Storywalks®, we would love for you to share your feedback here. We typically keep our books up for about a month at each location. We will update the webpage here as soon as changes are made.
