Starting Oct. 10th - Text "OUT" to (919) 372-7475 Beginning October 10, 2022, electric utility customers can report power outages via text message. Customers will be auto-enrolled in the system, using the phone number currently listed on their account.
Want to take advantage of this service? Check that the phone number listed on your utility account is current and can receive text messages. View your information and correct any outdated numbers here. Once your phone number is updated in our system, you will be auto-enrolled and can begin texting "OUT" to report.
MOBILE APP Download the Apex Outage app to report outages from your smartphone. Available on the App Store and Google Play. Allows you to receive updates on restoration times.
ONLINE Bookmark this site on your computer or device. Note: When searching your address to report an outage, do not include the street suffix (road, court, street, alley, avenue, etc.)
PHONE When you prefer to dial in to our automated system. New outage line: (919) 372-7475. Verizon customers that experience issues when calling our outage number may call 919-249-3531 and press option 2.

Getting Ready to Report
Know your account number - You can find this printed on your bill.
Set up your account in the mobile app - Don’t wait until the lights are out! Follow the instructions below to set up any associated accounts in the mobile app, so that it’s ready to go when you experience an outage.
After downloading the app, set up your service(s) by tapping Profile, Add Account, and following the on-screen prompts. If your service is interrupted, open the app and tap Report a Problem to select the problem. You'll receive notifications (if enabled) for restoration times and updates.
Update your contact info with us - You can also use your phone number to report an outage, but only if that number is updated in our customer database. Complete this form or call (919) 362-8676 and press option 2 to update your info.
